About Factoring Solutions

Factoring Solutions is acknowledged as the leading independent specialist factoring and discounting broker by the factoring companies that deal with us as well as many of those that wished that they did but don't meet our stringent high standards. The prime mover is Ian Johnston who is one of the most experienced factoring professionals in the market having been involved in the industry for over 30 years with a variety of factoring companies, both large and small.

Factoring Solutions is unlike most other brokers as firstly we are happy to make public our disquiet with the way that many factoring companies operate and secondly for the fact that whilst most of our competitors are run by ex industry salesmen, Ian's background is primarily in the operational and client management arena looking after clients and running their facilities so we are fully aware of how damaging inflexible and poorly explained operating procedures can be.

Ian's background includes the setting up of a new factoring company in the 1980's with responsibility for all operational and client management functions and the subsequent management of all operational aspects for five years.

The 1990's onwards included a period as Operations Manager of a regional branch of one of the major independents plus several years with a company specialising in the funding and management of manufacturing companies in financial distress, in a variety of roles including 18 months as interim financial director of a manufacturing company in Wales.

Latterly Ian has capitalised on his years of factoring experience and director level contacts within the industry by successfully offering an ethical broking service with the needs of the client being of primary importance.

Unlike one of the high profile factoring brokers which is actually owned by a factoring company and other supposedly independent brokers who derive a substantial part of their income from working for factoring companies on a mutual back scratching basis thus prejudicing their impartiality, Factoring Solutions has no ties to any factoring company whatsoever and our advice is only ever given on the basis of what is best for the customer.
